Gaming in schools -
Taught with intention, balance, and care.
CyberNix delivers in person, hands on school-ready esports and digital programmes designed to enhance learning, support wellbeing, and prepare students, parents, and educators for a digital future.
Why Gaming & Esports BELONGS in schools
-
When delivered in a structured and guided way, gaming and esports can create powerful opportunities for student engagement and belonging. School-based esports programmes have been shown to reach students who may not typically participate in traditional sports or extracurricular activities, helping them feel connected to their school community.
Key benefits schools report include:
Increased student engagement and motivation
Stronger peer relationships and teamwork
A greater sense of belonging and school pride
-
Esports and digital programmes can support the development of transferable skills that schools already prioritise. When framed intentionally, these programmes reinforce communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and digital literacy — skills that apply across learning areas and future pathways.
Skills commonly developed through guided programmes include:Communication and teamwork
Strategic thinking and problem-solving
Digital confidence and responsible technology use
-
From startups to seasoned brands, we partner with people who care about doing things right—and doing them well.
Young people are already engaging with gaming and online spaces outside of school. Schools play an important role in helping students develop healthy digital habits, understand online behaviour, and learn how to balance screen time with wellbeing.
A school-based approach allows students to:
Learn safe and respectful online behaviour
Develop awareness of screen balance and wellbeing
Engage with gaming in a supervised, values-led environment
How CyberNix works with schools
CyberNix partners with intermediate and secondary schools to introduce esports and gaming in ways that are structured, educational, and sustainable. We work alongside teachers and school leadership to build programmes that fit each school’s students, resources, and goals — whether a school is just getting started or ready to grow an established programme.
What we can offer
-
Many schools we work with begin with limited equipment or experience in esports. We support schools by providing both the gear and facilitation needed to get programmes running safely and effectively, while also upskilling staff to manage practice, play, and student behaviour over time.
-
At intermediate level, our programmes focus on accessible, team-based games such as Rocket League. Sessions are fully facilitated and designed to build communication, teamwork, confidence, and positive behaviour. Programmes typically run weekly, with students working towards shared goals such as friendly competitions or end-of-year tournaments.
-
At secondary level, we work with students to explore competitive gaming alongside the wider esports ecosystem. Students learn about tournament preparation, casting, and event design, and are challenged through projects to create and evaluate their own competitive formats. These programmes also introduce pathways into future opportunities, including involvement in CyberNix holiday programmes and events.
-
Our goal is not to create dependence, but to help schools build confidence and capability. We work collaboratively with staff to design programmes that can grow over time, support school-led esports clubs, and fit within existing school structures — ensuring esports becomes a sustainable and well-managed part of school life.
